Okay- stupid question probably, but it came up and I didn't have the answer.

If I buy AppleCare for my iPhone4 or iPad or whatever, but I actually sell the device in a year when the new iPhone5 or iPad2 comes out, would any AppleCare I bought for those devices be transferable to the new one?

Thanks.

The AppleCare stays with the device it was registered with, to the new owner. But this will likely help your resale value as you are selling something still under warranty.

AppleCare is registered to the serial number of your Apple product, thus if it's sold the warranty is also sold to the new owner.
