AppleCare+ Vision Pro Date Of Purchase Old?

Hi,

My Dad bought a Vision Pro on pre-order day and just got an email with shipping for delivery tomorrow and his AppleCare info which he bought the two years for. He just sent it to me and it shows the end date of Jan 22 2026, he wants to know why its not Feb 2 2026 as it wont get delivered until Feb 2 2024. Does anyone have any ideas or know why this is? He thought it would be started when he would get possession of it not when he would order it, he thinks he is missing out on two weeks of it now since he decided to pre order it?

He did some math and thinks its like a $10 dollar loss. He said it was $499 for 104 weeks which is, $4.79 a week and now with it 2 weeks out of date compared to delivery hes missing out on like $9.60 of coverage.

No real insight here except since the first day of availability was Feb 2, 2024, he would have one hell of an argument.

Sounds like something to contact Apple support about. No point in coverage starting prior to availability.

Heck, if you don't drop it or smash it, it's more expensive than that. As far as I see it it's $500 + tax for 1 year warranty addition. That's why I passed on AppleCare.
