When I go here:
https://checkcoverage.apple.com/
I see that AppleCare+ for $269 as the only option for my device (2019 13 MBP).

Does that mean they no longer sell AppleCare? Or can that be purchased by phone? I'm assuming that will be a good bit cheaper since it won't cover accidental damage. I usually buy AppleCare for my Macbooks. I don't buy anything for my phones.

I think you can only buy by calling Apple, and it’ll likely be $249.

My friend bought a second hand 15” touch bar pro that was 6months old, called Apple who said he couldn’t get Applecare+ as it was outside the purchase window for that but could get Applecare. In the UK, Applecare+ is £329, they said Applecare was going to be £299 (which is what it cost before they introduced + I think), so they sent a link to his email address for him to purchase from

If you can get +, you may as well pay the little extra to cover accidental damage

I bought AC for my 2017 MBP at close to the end of the first year of ownership. It was not eligible for AC+ at the time. I thought it was cheaper, but now that I checked my records, I did pay $249. So it looks like AC+ is a no brainer if one intends to have an extended warranty, and AC must be bought by phone.
