Hello, after having the 120gb classic for 6 years, I was eagerly awaiting for years the 128gb and purchased one 10 days ago.
I didn't get Applecare for $59 because my mastercard extends the warranty for 12 months.
Now granted, I would have to fill out a claim and likely be reimbursed. It seems Ipod Touch 128gb repair costs are listed as $149 so worse case scenario I would be out $90. I am not thrilled Apple care is only the second year as when I got my first Ipod Classic in 2005 I was able to get a 4 year warranty from Best Buy.

What are people's opinion of Apple Care vs. gambling on the credit card warranty. I do see I would get more phone support but I am only 10-15 minutes from an Apple Store.

I had a lot of things running (update apps, bluetooth) and found I have been at a low percentage this evening for a nice long time with music and some web due to shutting off several options. At around 22 hours total with around 4-5hours of use.

Yesterday I did have one shutdown- I thought it was due to taking my headphones out and trying to put in others that wouldn't go all the way in due to a larger surrounding plug area and having a case. If I don't have any other problems between now and Sunday I will keep the unit without exchanging.

Has anyone returned/exchanged due to just one shutdown? What would you recommend? The unit seems fine. I am really enjoying music on it- using with Bose Soundtrue headphones and occassionally Soundcolor bluetooth speaker- normally I use Klipsch Image S4's and Audio Technica M50's with my other music/electric pianos.
