As the heading says, What is the best bang for your buck?
In the past (pre iphone 6) i never had any of them, then my lifeproof case leaked and I started getting the AT&T insurance (that has gone up aprox $3 a month from that year), So now with the upgrading from the 7 to the X im debating on what one to get or to just keep my plan with AT&T?

I don't know about AT&T but squaretrade is insurance, you lose or break the iPhone you get $$ to get a new one.
Applecare covers accidental damage but not loss/theft. It also covers defects, and extends the warranty so if you home button fails to work in year 2 of the phone, AC will cover it, but squaretrade will not.

I suspect AT&T's insurance is closer to what squaretrade offers then what apple offers.

Check out the monthly expenses, the deductibles, and the exclusions/inclusions and decide which product is best for you.

I have not bought Squaretade or carrier insurance in a while but in a nutshell but with Apple and Carriers you have to pay a deductible basically. Apple charges around $40(?) or something to fix a screen or more if they replace the phone and you have 2 claims. It costs $130 upfront ($200 for the X). Carrier costs anywhere between $9-$13 a month and the deductible is usually $200 per claim. The only reason to take the carriers is if you're worried about losing the phone or being stolen. Square is different and they just cut you a check. After you pay the upfront costs.
