Hi All,

Like many of you, I am expecting to review an iPhone Xs Max today. I had originally signed up for phone insurance through Verizon at $9 a month. However, I read that Apple now offers AppleCare+ at a monthly rate ($14.99 for the coverage that includes theft and loss). If I understand correctly, this is what I am seeing in coverage differences.

Total Equipment Protection:

Cost: $9.00 a month
Covers damage, loss, theft, and manufacturers defects past warranty period
Deductible for any damage/loss/theft: I could not find on Asurion's website for new models, but I imagine in the $200-250 range(at least).

Applecare+:

Cost $14.99 a month
Covers damage, loss, theft, and manufacturers defects past warranty period
Deductible (screen damage): $29
Deductible (all other damage): $99
Deductible (Loss/Theft): $269.00

Is anyone else considering either of these options? If so, what did you decide? Is there any other factor I am missing or overlooking?
