Yeah hi, I was going to purchase an iMac from the Refurb section of the online Apple store. I want to know would it be alright to buy the AppleCare from somewhere like Amazon or do I have to buy a special refurb AppleCare?

Agreed. You get the same warranty as for new products during the first year. After than, if you buy AppleCare than it's the same deal.
Just be sure you pick up AppleCare for your model (iMac) and not something else, and you'll be good.

Thanks :)

Thanks, much appreciated. I shall go ahead and buy! :D

I take it you can purchase AppleCare anytime in the first year of warranty yeah?

AppleCare must be purchased and registered within one year of original purchase; waiting does no good as it extends the warranty & phone support to a total of three years for each. The big gain in purchasing earlier rather than later is the added 9 months of free phone support in the first year.
