AppleCare without original receipt

Is it possible to buy AppleCare without original receipt?

I'm going to buy it in Italy. While chatting with Apple helpdesk, I was told to have receipt with me.

I've the box, but no receipt. Am I out of luck?

Try buying Apple Care using the online store.

First, verify the initial warranty has not expired on the Apple website, then select the option to buy Apple Care. I've done this with Apple products on the past.

You should have no issues with online purchase as Apple knows when your product was 1st powered up and registered

eg I bought a rMB overseas, gave it to my eldest 8 months later who purchased AC as a student in UK, no problem

And you purchased local UK AC right?

I bought it in Thailand, used it in UAE gave it to my Eldest on a visit who took it back to UK and bought AC there
