Hi

Is AppleCare+ worth it for iPhone 11 Pro 256GB?

Started looking at the iPhone 11 - $699. Not bad. Maybe 128GB is better, that brings it to $749. ... That's not too far from $999 and iPhone 11 Pro feels much better in hand. Ok... 64GB only? Have to have more than that ... Now, we are at $1149, $450 over my initial budget.

Is it worth adding $199 of AppleCare+ on top of this? It's crazy how quickly it went from $699 all the way up to $1350, potentially...

I feel that if you only break the screen once, in two years, it's about a tie?

Imo its only worth it if you're planning on keeping it for more than a year or if you're prone to breaking your iPhone. Otherwise a standard credit card extended warranty, a good case, and screen protector should be good enough.

AppleCare is worth it!! Regardless, if u prone or not to dropping, etc. I paid off my XS and handed it over to the wifey. One of my twins grab it and drops it, now the touch screen is unresponsive at times. $250 to replace without AppleCare. I believe with it would’ve been $99

It has no cracks, etc on the whole body but something came loose due to I hear a tiny rattle in there. I plan to open it up myself this week and see what’s the deal.

Everything works except touch screen at times.

Yes. lol speaking for experience breaking my screen. I have a crack on the side on my xs max and based on how much money we spend on devices we need insurance for it.

ok ... it's just another $200.

Gosh these things get expensive quick.

I can essentially buy two iPhone 11 with this money and replace one if it broke.

It seems like you have already talked yourself out of getting AppleCare+.

I am not one who is prone to dropping or losing things but I have AppleCare+ with the theft/loss coverage because you never know and life happens. I pay monthly because I trade in my phone yearly and don’t feel like going through the hassle to get a refund on the amount that I haven’t used and for me it is just easier to go into my subscriptions from my phone and cancel. Requires minimal effort and I don’t have to talk to anyone to do it.

At the end of the day, I am sure you will make the best decision for you.

I got AppleCare+ for my iPhone 11.

AppleCare+ is £149 and a screen replacement is £25 (excess fee) and a screen replacement without AppleCare+ is £196 (roughly) so you save about £20~.

It’s not amazing but gives you some piece of mind. I decided to get it because I came from a small iPhone SE (4 inch) to an iPhone 11 (6.1 inch) so more likely to drop it if you try using it with just one hand.

I might just have to cough up the $200. We have a 6yr old. I bought this phone for wife and the kid plays with it often.

Cannot believe I am spending $1350 on a phone ... Still using my 6s

Let your child play with the 6S, it can handle drops much better and you won’t cringe every time it hits the floor

Only you can evaluate what your peace of mind is worth.
For me, distraction + clumsiness + tile floors + cats = a high level of anxiety. That means that I buy AppleCare+ for any piece of tech over $500. Being able to relax is worth much more than the cost of AppleCare.

NO, get a good case and GSP. We have 2 year warranty in Australia anyway, if i damaged it i would claim on my house insurance, not that i ever have for myself but have done for my kids.
