If you want AppleCare+ after making the initial online purchase, you must make a Genius Appointment at a local Apple Store. I did that on Friday. After 48 hours I did not receive an email confirming the purchase. I just spoke with Apple Support. Seems it may take 72hours to generate an email that will confirm purchase and show the AppleCare+ registration number. I think this new system is cumbersome, and inefficient. I wish I had purchased it along with the iPad!
