I just got a iphone 3g used and i was thinking about getting the extended warrnty on it if possible. HE bought it last october, so it is still under the 1 year warranty... Is it worth getting if i can?

You can get it anytime before the one year warranty expires. Whether it is worth it or not depends on your tolerance for risk. I almost never buy extended warranties, and did not for my first gen phone and haven't yet for my 3G. I would only do so if I became concerned about a specific issue before the one year is up.

Buying it would mean that your warranty will last as long as your two year contract with AT&T (if you are in the US).
