AppleCinema Banding

My apple cinema 20 in shows some crap banding.
It is incapable of producing smooth color gradients in PS.
med-black is always blocky...

any ideas?

Check that you've got your display properly set up in the System Preferences.

Make sure that under the 'Displays' option, you have the display resolution set to 1680x1050 and that you have 'Millions' selected under the Colours option.

I can't think of any other reason that you wouldn't see a smooth colour gradient other than your display having too few colours set up in the options, it doesn't sound like a fault with your display...

Try and calibrate the screen. You can set the colors to your needs...
