Amazon has brought back the all-time low Black Friday price on Apple's 10th generation iPad (64GB Wi-Fi), available for $249.99 in Silver, down from $349.00. You'll need to clip an on-page coupon worth $29.01 in order to see the final deal price at checkout.

This is the first time since Black Friday that we've seen a return of the record low price on the iPad, and this one isn't expected to last long with only one color on sale. Delivery is also estimated to arrive after Christmas, so you'll have to be willing to wait until January for the tablet.

Note: You won't see the deal price until checkout.

This iPad features Apple's A14 Bionic processor, a 10.9-inch display, 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage, 12-megapixel rear camera, and Touch ID. Nice price. I realize that price does not include tax but here in Northern Europe the price is the equivalent of USD 445 which includes 25% VAT.

My son uses the 9th gen for roblox and some of the graphics are so intense, it just glitches. Will the processor on this be a huge improvement for that?

Yes. It is. I’ve used the chips in both devices with that app, and I can see what you are talking about.

That said, you may want to wait. In Q1 of 2025, Apple is likely to release a much more capable base-level iPad. One that has more memory, GPU, and CPU capabilities. Though it will likely be $350 (or perhaps even up to $400) for the base, compared with the current sale price of $250. I think it will be worth the difference, though, given where Apple is going. The 10th gen base iPad is already about 2.5 years old.

I'm waiting, and I hope you're right about Q1 2025, but that might be a little optimistic. Or not.

However, I may wait until later for a sale anyway.

With iPads moving to 8GB of RAM like the Mini just did I think there's a good chance that units with 3 or 4GB like the 9th and 10th generation models might get left behind by software sooner rather than later. Not even because of Apple Intelligence or other AI features, but because 3 and 4 GB of RAM is not adequate even for a tablet operating system in 2024.

I like the design of this iPad but 64 gigs is not worth the price for this iPad these days you at least need 128 gigs of storage to do anything much with a iPad!
64 GB is totally fine for basic usage, esp. if you have iCloud.

Personally, I'm more interested in a RAM upgrade than a storage upgrade (although getting both would be even better of course).

Good price for the basic iPad. Should get software support also. Can easily go ahead with this one provided 64GB will be enough. Would have been wonderful if the price is available for all the colours.

Nonsense.
iPadOS 18 still supports the iPad 7 with the A10.
The A14 is 4 years newer.
Given that this iPad came out in 2022, it should get software updates until (at minimum) 2027, and security updates until (at minimum) 2029.
The 2017 iPad Pro just received a security update last week, and only stopped receiving the full new software three months ago.

That’s not to say that the iPad 10 isn’t significantly outdated (it is) but it’s also $250, and even Google’s $500 pixel tablet has a processor slower than the A14.

Even on the iPhone side, iOS 18 goes back to the XS and XR, and those have a processor that’s two generations older than the A14.

Which means 360 CAD but the best price we've had is 450 CAD (50 CAD off).

Too expensive, especially if there's a new one around the corner.
Otherwise I would have bought a pink one for my daughter. She'll keep the iPad Pro 1st-gen for a while :)

Others may disagree but I really wouldn’t recommend this for purchase. The screen is not great, the processor is very old, it’s only got 4gb of memory, only has 64gb of storage, doesn’t support HDR for media consumption and is gonna get replaced very soon by a much more capable tablet.

Maybe if someone just browses the web now and then or just wants a bigger screen for Kindle reading, it would be ok, but I’d recommend buying a used Air instead of this.
