My Apple 17 ProMax clear case arrived. It is thin and lite as a feather. Some third party cases the buttons do not push easily. Apple’s will work perfectly.

Interesting. The clear case on my 16 PM buttons do not press easily. Is it as slippery as previous versions?
I cant get on board with it having that horrible white patch that will literally block majority of seeing the phone. And it looks horrible on the phone in pics. I will have to go with a 3rd party that still uses the Mag Safe ring.
Thats hiding the magsafe magnets now vs us seeing them, which to me ruins the look of the phone with this new blocked out area on the case.

Just in case anyone is interested on this case it came in today and it looks great! The MagSafe symbol is in the back hidden. The case is about the same thickness or maybe slightly thinner than the iPhone 14 pro official clear case. Got this for the wife and they are the best because they don’t turn yellow over time.
I ordered this and the black TW. Glad to hear about this one. My only issue is they used white for the back part. It would have been nicer if they had the colors matching the phones. Spigen has a clear case like this (and includes covering the “plateau” with precision cutouts), and they have colors - including orange.
That is my question as well and with having ordered the Blue I did not want that big white rectangle taking up most of the back of the phone. I think it probably works OK with the Silver but on the Blue and Orange looks strange.
I personally am tired of the buttons not working that great on all of the after market cases so I ordered the Midnight Silicone Case.
Same here. I order a TORRAS clear case, had one for my 16PM and it never yellowed. That big white block on there ruins the point of having a clear case, I want to see the phone while protecting it.
Because for some reason, Apple decided to move their apple logo down on the phone. On previous phones, its centered on the phone, on the 17's, it's centered to the rectangle that attaches to the phoen. With that in mind, if you were to put a clear case on the phone, the wonderful white magsafe ring, would cover the logo (not fully). It wouldn't look good. They should have left it alone and just moved it up on the rectangle to be centered like it was - to the phone.
Same. I just moved over to the clear Apple case for my 16 PM. Had the vibrant blue silicone case for a bit and wanted a cleaner case to see my phone. Always like Apple's clear cases except the buttons are not clickly and nearly impossible to hit without checking. It's also slippery as hell lol. Still like it though.
Yeah, it was a terrible design choice. Especially on the clear case. I sincerely think nobody realized that moving the logo would screw up how the magsafe would look on it lol and the huge block out on the case was the "fix". IMO not a fan of this years phone/cases. All seem so terrible in the design choice category
Given I’m getting the Cosmic Orange, I’m not that excited about the big white square.
I will say when the MagSafe cases first released I wasn’t happy about the lines for that in the case, but over time I didn’t even think about it. I don’t use any MagSafe accessories unless you count the case so for me this is all unnecessary.

Because otherwise the Apple logo on the phone would be obscured by the MagSafe circle on the case. So they decided to obscure the MagSafe instead and place another Apple logo on top.
The mystery is why they didn’t go for colored versions to fit the iPhone colors.
So the white box is a dealbreaker for me…

I just received mine from John Lewis. I already have the Sienna and Blue Techwoven.
Tempted to return the clear case as I didn't realise the bottom of the phone is exposed. Seems like a dumb move.

I did not buy this case as the white panel on a clear case was a deal breaker... I want to see my ORANGE COSMIC PHONE!. I got a Zagg Crystal at Best Buy (it was a cheaper second choice to the OtterBox - Symmetry Series Hard Shell for Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max - Clear, which was out of stock)
Who at Apple thought that was the best thing to do? Last year's clear case was clear except for the white magnet - which was acceptable. This year blocking it off was disgusting and it looked bad on the Orange but on the Blue it was even worse.
