The drive I have happens to be one of the ones that Apple is giving away for free to users with AppleCare if they "need" (
) it.
To see the faux pas, boot off of a Lion Recovery drive. Then once it goes to the screen with all of the utilities, click Mac OS X Utilities in the top bar and then click "about Mac OS X Utilities." Look at the image that is displayed in the about screen. It clearly has an image of a Snow Leopard disc, instead of an image of a (nonexistent) Lion disc.
