iOS use to be a simple platform that was easier to build new versions because it only needed support from a few devices— all with the same relative hardware.

Now that we have screens in various sizes, different chips, different cameras, some with home buttons and variety of other hardware. The problem is trying to build a seamless iOS that works for all these devices.

iOS probably will never have the same issues as android and the number of different devices there; however the stability issues iOS 11 is facing suggests how difficult building a one-size-fits is.

(I didn’t even touch on the evolving difference between iPhones and iPad)
