I might be wishful thinking, but the title of the page says "iLife '09 Hardware up to date program." Does this mean the hardware, NVIDIA chipsets, etc., might be a possibility when iLife comes installed with the iMac's?

Shouldn't they have used the word Software instead? Not unless Apple has something up their sleeves. It also says to check back January 12th for additional information.

It is correct, they are bringing the HARDWARE you bought up-to-date with HARDWARE they are currently selling.

that page is for people who have bought a mac on or after the 6th of jan (yesterday) and lets them upgrade ilife08 to ilife09 for 9.95, it has nothing to do with hardware changes coming soon so do not worry
