Today Apple announced a new iPhone 8, predecessor to the 7, and decided to increase the price by $100. Yes, they found that the new glass body, wireless charging (which should have been added years ago) and True Tone display (which also should have and could have been added last year) deserved a 17% price increase per unit! Yes, it comes in fewer colors, storage options and has the same old LED retina display, but it's GLASS! Not to mention it's heavier AND thicker than it's predecessor! Apple also increased Apple watch prices by 50 bucks, but it's totally worth it to get a red dot on the crown!
Seriously, it's obvious Apple knows it has core supporters who will buy their products year-on-year no matter what. Apple is like Donald Trump in that way: they know they'll never lose their core supporters who will buy anything they toss at them, so they've given up trying to innovate and have worked on new ways to gouge us, even with 800 billion in cash sitting around. What Apple SHOULD have done today is released the iPhone 8: a phone with an OLED, edgeless display with an innovative camera and a revolutionary design; starting at $799.
