Apple's iPad mini False Statement

Why did Apple state in the iPad mini production video that it has the same resolution as the New iPad (iPad 3)?

If you look closely and compare the specs, the iPad 3 has a screen resolution of 2048 by 1536 where as the iPad mini is 1024 by 768.

Is this a marketing scheme that they're trying to pull off?

Apple said it has the same screen resolution as the iPad 2. Not the iPad 3/new.
