Amazon is discounting a few models of Apple's M4 Mac mini this weekend, starting at $499.00 for the model with 16GB RAM/256GB SSD, down from $599.00. Discounts reach up to $129 off in these sales, and this time around there is also a discount on the M4 Pro model.

In terms of the 16GB/256GB SSD model, this is a solid second-best price. You can also get the M4 Mac mini with 16GB RAM/512GB SSD for $689.00, down from $799.00, and the model with 24GB RAM/512GB SSD for $889.99, down from $999.00.

Apple last updated the Mac mini in late 2024, introducing a redesigned computer that's smaller than the previous generation and featuring the M4 and M4 Pro chips. The Denver micro center is showing over 25 in stock, hurry before they run out. I actually find it fun to watch the stock go down. I can’t believe how long this deal has been going and the amount of units they have sold since before Christmas.

If I knew when the M5 Mac mini was coming, I’d buy a fully equipped M4 mini (32GB/1TB) few days before the M5 Mac mini announcement… because the M4 Mac mini is still affordable, but the memory crisis could impact the upgrade prices of the new M5 model…

Down to 23 there now. They must've received a new shipment recently as they were sold out and not listed at all a week or two ago when I was considering it and went to look.

Now there back in stock, MC is 10 minutes away from me, and I don't think I'm going make the trip. My M4 Pro MBP is my do-all and this would be a "because it's such a great deal!" purchase that I don't really need.

If you are in the US, Best Buy price matches them. I just price match Best Buy online with micro center and go pick up in store same day. Haven’t bought a Mac without a MC price match in years at this point.

Oh wow, really?
For online purchase or in store?

I know our local Best Buy is super picky on in-store matches and only does it if there is a local branch of whatever store you are price matching with.

I never really understand what their upside is to being that ridiculous.
It ends up making me never shop at Best Buy.

Yea I really don’t need one either, but I had a windows file server that is dying and this would a be much more energy efficient alternative. Plus with a MC credit card I got mine for $380.00.

How did you do that? I'm thinking of getting the base model but the 256gb ssd is a real problem for me. I don't want to spend another 200 for 512gb

There are other brands as well

They have them also on Amazon which will give you faster and better service. There are videos out there on YouTube that show the process. Be aware to do this you need another Mac (preferably) to perform DFU.

DFU is one reason I might want another Mac. My MBP is covered by Apple and I can get service there, but I'm a do-it-yourselfer and becoming familiar with Apple Configurator and DFU is on my list of things to do.

This here is 100% with my experience price-matching at BestBuy with Microcenter. Because it was in-store only, and there isn't a MC locally, they would not price match. I even brought to their attention that it doesn't say anywhere in their terms the "qualified" competitor has to be local, but they don't care. I love BB, don't get me wrong, but their PM policy, especially with MC, sucks. Now, others have had a different experience and then others have said to lie to BB as to your local ZIP (make it close to the MC you're price matching). It's just not worth my time anymore.

WOW. $380 for a 2TB from this company. And, they're backordered! Just as soon get a TB4 enclosure and put my own SSD in it and make it primary and not have all the issues. Wait...that's exactly what I did! For half the price and no DFU process needed! :)
