Best Buy has a big Presidents' Day sale happening this weekend, and it includes some of the best prices we've ever seen on Apple's MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. This event will last through the weekend and end on Monday, February 19. Our article from yesterday has a deeper dive into everything being discounted during the sale.

The highlight of the MacBook Air deals is on the 256GB M2 15-inch MacBook Air, priced at $999.00, down from $1,299.00. You can also get the 512GB M2 model on sale at $1,199.00, down from $1,499.00. Both of these $300 discounts are a match for the best prices we've ever seen on the M2 15-inch MacBook Air.

In defense of Apple and Tim's only goal (make more money), it has apparently been studied and way too many consumers are just totally easily duped by "SALE! BUY NOW!! QUICK... ITs ON SALE!!"

You can raise the prices and offer a discount and you'll sell more than if you simply set the price fairly and correctly (and at the same actual price of the raised MSRP-Sale Discount) to begin with.

It's sad

That buy now/caution/don't buy now thing is for a particular set of apple customers… most people will just buy what they need, when they need it. If you buy apple care with it, you're covered for at least three years too. Buy nice, then enjoy and don't worry about new devices releasing until you need to buy a replacement.

Pretty sure Apple sells only base models of all the different tiers as well as their authorized dealers. Anything else would be a build to order which dealers don’t stock.

I had my eye on the M2 15" 16/1TB because they were 400$ off but they were sold out. I went with the M3 Pro 12c/18/1tb. Do not have any regrets. Amazing machine. Whips my M1/16/1TB and that machine was the best Mac I ever had.

I can't blame corporations for pulling out the shears and grabbing some of that sweet, sweet wool. They make it clear profit is the singular driving force in all their decisions. Commerce has become so obviously predatory I can't even call it being duped. People accept it.

Along with the "Low monthly payments of only $xxx!". "Interest-free for (whatever term)!". "Same as cash!". Etc. etc.

At least this time it's priced in dollars versus creative financing.
