Apple today announced that its new Passeig de Gràcia retail store in Barcelona, Spain will officially open this Saturday, July 28 at 10:00 AM.

The store has gained some notice for Apple's use of mosaics in the store's logo and construction barriers honoring the style of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, with the mosaics being made up of pieces of icons from Apple's iOS apps.

cool I'm going to Barcelona in August so can't wait.
will love to see it, and hope they still have some kind of the artwork still up.

A dedicated fan you are! :D When I was there (I was there twice), I would not have had time for something like this. Then again, back then, I lived near Frankfurt am Main. They have 2 Apple Stores now...

Denmark dosent have 1, and have been in Barelona before i don't feel like i have a rush to see all the things there, so seeing the new store will be something to do on the way

Yea, I read that before. Actually, the closest now for me is OKC - or Dallas for that matter. Since I will be in Dallas on Wednesday, I might just stop by. Gotta ask Siri if the traffic lets me do it... gotta pick up someone from DFW.

So, what is the closest for you then? Hamburg?

Perfect!! Now you'll have a store to goto once your iPhone gets stolen on las rambles. I'm sure the thieves and crack whores on las rambles will sell twice as many stolen iPhones than the apple store will sell new ones. They have created a whole industry down there. It's a major problem in Barcelona. I can think of a dozen cities that deserve a new store over crap hole Barcelona.

Luckily you can take the öresundsbro över to malmö later this autumn if the rumours are correct ;)

I'm from Barcelona and I've passed by the store a couple of times. It looks gorgeous. Won't go on the 28th because it's gonna be a madness in there though.

I'm pretty stoked up about this. We're in the process of relocating permanently, albeit seemingly taking our time over it, and I was worried about losing easy access to Regent St and Covent Garden. Having a Barcelona store just a short walk from Passeig de Gracia station is going to make my continued Mac ownership just that little bit easier :)

Ramblas, not rambles ;)
