Could it just be an app?
They launch it along side an apple tv with an app store.
They have the ios user base to use as leverage in negotiations with content providers.
If they can make it work, it would be a massive advantage over the competition.
I would be shocked if they make tv hardware, to much demand for different sizes and ports, low margin business.
Would still require a cable subscription, but you have a great interface, and it is portable.
Could compete with smart glass with the whole second screen experience.
Would be easier to partner up with the cable companies than individual channels.
Faster adoption selling a $99 box than a $2000 tv.
