Apple's Shazam App Now Includes Info on Local Concerts

Apple today announced that its Shazam app has a new "Concerts" feature, which is designed to allow Shazam users to find concerts that are happening in their local area.

The Concerts section can be found in My Music, with recommendations based on each user's Shazam history. Apple says that Shazam users can browse, search, and filter by artist, date, and location, plus they can explore trending concerts.

Events can be saved in the app with the option to set reminders about upcoming shows, view tickets, and unlock concert exclusives from select artists. These exclusives can include new watch faces and wallpapers, along with behind the scenes video, tour photos, and show set lists.

Shazam's new Concert functionality follows new concert options that were added in iOS 17. Searching for an artist in Spotlight shows information about upcoming concerts with options for purchasing tickets and getting information on venue details.

Shazam can be downloaded from the App Store for free, and the song discovery features are also integrated directly into iOS.

Let's say Im in a conversation that I want to stealth record. Before this update I could simply start it but putting my hand in my pocket. No one is the wiser.

Now I have to pull out my phone and potentially alert the other party of my intentions.

We should have to option to turn this on or off.

If you Shazam a song, it should tell you when the next concert by that artist will be, let you tap to buy a ticket, and give you instant directions to get there. And if you are in an Apple Car it should drive you there on its own.

What a half job!
This needs to be part of the Apple Music app like Spotify, so you can see favourite artists or artist you listen to if they’re playing near you!
Also add in notifications for concerts nearby for favourite artists. Come on Apple.

Finally I can see my favourites on my iPhone as well (Apple Music).
It was very annoying to lack this functionality, especially with new albums that you still don't know well enough.

I love Shazam. I have discovered so much new music using this app. Since Apple bought it and made it part of the control screen, it's even easier to use.

I keep waiting for an update that takes advantage of the new Apple Watch features, but there is still no options to add Shazam, either as a widget, or as one of the complications on the ‘pick 3‘ widget.

Without that, I am limited to watch faces that have space for a complication, because I am constantly Shazamming on my Apple Watch.
