Apple's Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter doesn't support miniDisplayPort !?

So it seems that Apple has once again dropped the ball...I have two 1440p Dell monitors that use miniDP to connect to my current MBP. Which adapter(s) should I get in order to connect them with my 2016 MBP ?

You need a USB C to mini DP cable.

Edit: I don't think any of those exist. Does your dell not have regular DisplayPort? This is what I use, although not that particular brand:
