Will they ever move the charging port from the bottom? What bright engineers came up with that. Mouse is useless until it’s charged? Nonsense 😱

Maybe when the soon to be move to USB-C happens shortly & original reason had to be cheapest way to manufacture it.

I know it's a silly place to put it, but honestly, it's just never bothered me. The mouse charges so fast that within a few minutes I have more then enough to keep me going for the session,a nd then I can leave it to charge later. Most of the time when I notice it's around 10% I charge while not in use anyways. Theres never been a time where Ive actually been stuck without it TBH.

Apple has no interest in redesigning their mouse. It would cost money to redesign and they're clearly not interested in that sector. They'll do the absolute bare minimum cheapest thing they can do and still be EU compliant with charging, so it'll be a simple connector swap. Same stupid flat mouse design. Same bottom charging port.

lol same here... Tech nerds are so up in arms about this... I am hoping Apple leaves it at the bottom with the new release, so their collective heads can explode...... I've since switched to the magic trackpad anyway, which is far superior imo.

I'm not expecting a redesign—just a switch from Lightning to USB-C. I've also had no issue with charging the mouse as it happens so quickly, although it is frustrating in the rare case it does run out of juice. Apple needs a mouse to sell to the majority of its customers—along with a keyboard, it completes the setup. However, most power users are buying up to something else. Apple isn't going to spend money on a redesign.

i don't understand why people fixate on this. i charge the thing maybe twice a year. it gives me a notice when it's below 10% battery. When i shut down for the day, i charge it up. I don't have to think about it for several months. It's maybe the tiniest inconvenience in the entire world.

All I can say is that I used MX mice day-in day-out for many years (still have two in the cabinet beside my desk) - and got carpal tunnel syndrome pretty bad. I've used a magic mouse for less than a year, and my pain is about one tenth as much with it. So, it works fine, it hurts less - and, oh, every couple of months I let it charge overnight. That's why my MXs are in the cabinet, and that's where they'll stay.
