While performing some maintenance on my ibook - repairing permissions, etc. I kept getting an error message multiple times; and I mean multiple. It said Applescript error - 1762. Anyone know what it is and/or why???

Thanks

Are you using Onyx or similar to perform the maintenance routines?

Try repairing permissions using Disk Utility and see if any errors come up there. I have a feeling the error is because there are no packages in Library/Receipts so the app repairing permissions has no idea what the correct permissions are meant to be.

I think I got the same trouble whilst using YASU. An Apple script error came up (unfortunately I can't remember which), clicked ok and YASU just hung for about 30mins. Tried with Disk Utility and same hanging - no error though but hung with permissions almost complete. Had just installed MS Office but I can't see why even that would be a problem. I am using 10.2.8 btw.

Soton.
