I receive regular work emails that contain a unique URL that requires me to:
  • open the url
  • fill in the same information each time
  • and click a submit button.
I want to automate this process by writing an AppleScript that will run when these emails are received.

I'd like the Script to be able to:
  • parse the email for the (one and only) link
  • open said link in Safari
  • automatically input the same information every time
  • and click the submit button for me, all automatically and quickly.
I am not necessarily new to AppleScript or Automator, but I am unsure of where to start, aside from setting a rule in the Mail app to run the script. Appreciate any guidance I can receive!

Thank you!

Which bit are you struggling with?

If you're not sure where to start, just take it step by step. Get your script to execute on the rule, then focus on grabbing the mail contents. If you struggle, show us what you've done and I'm sure someone will help.
