Does anyone know of an Applescript to scan my iTunes music folder, take the creation date of all of the song files, and apply it as the "date added" into iTunes? The best I could find was an Applescript at Doug's Applescripts for iTunes to put the date into the comments. I played around with Automator, but Date Added isn't an option to change under the iTunes actions.
Any option that lets me edit the date added would be alright I guess.
Unless someone knows of an iPod song extraction method that maintains the date added date when importing the songs into iTunes.

Thanks in advance for any help

(For the record, I ended up in this predicament because instead of backing up my iTunes music folder to my iPod as I usually do before reformatting my harddrive, I used the .Mac program "Backup" to burn several DVDs because I was out of room on the iPod, and simply checked the "iTunes Music Library" option in Backup. When I went to recover the files, I got the fun surprise of realizing that Backup ONLY backed up the music files, not the tiny little iTunes database file :(. I found a good iPod extraction app to get my music with playcounts intact, but the date addeds appear doomed)
