Can anyone explain how to create a simple script on AppleScript. Nothing in particular, but i do want to learn how to use the program, so if anyone can help that would be great. Thanks.

This might or might not be of any use, esp. if you truly want to learn AppleScript, but Automator - especially the version arriving soon with Leopard (OS X 10.5) - does a lot of what you'd want to do with AppleScript, and the fact that it has a "Run AppleScript" item would mean you could 'script some items and then wrap them with the easier-to-use Automator.
