I am currently trying to decide between spending my x-mas gift cards on an AppleTV or Time Capsule. I have a question about AppleTV:

If I want to put DVDs that I own onto the AppleTV can I use handbrake? Does the program bypass the copyright protection?

(before anyone starts ranting about legality issues, I only plan on doing this for movies I currently own so they are all digital. Otherwise I plan to use iTunes rental service.)

Yes, Handbrake removes DRM and even has an Apple TV preset for ripping your DVDs. :) Should work perfectly.

is there an echo in the room? :p

anyway, yes +1 for handbreak, it works very well, I use it a lot for ripping to ipod touch
