Just wanted to get your guys' opinions about where we are today with the current technology, b/c I was thinking about it last night and I'm not really sure this whole aTV came out at the right time... Here's my stance: I'll have my appletv and all my older DVD's ripped using Visual Hub at the absolute highest quality possible (yet still can't be HD) and most of my downloaded TV shows, which actually are ripped in HD and encoded to stay the same. But I just got the Xbox 360 HD-DVD addon and was wondering this: These HDDVD's look absolutely incredible, so I'll def start buying/renting or watching newer movies and shows (like planet earth) on these HD-DVDs, which in no way possible fit into the whole AppleTV scheme, correct? I mean there is no way to (at least currently) rip an HD-DVD onto a MacBook Pro and somehow get it through visualhub or some sort to play at that same amazing bitrate/quality that it does on HDDVDs? I mean, it just seems like now as next generation DVDs are coming out, DVDs will slowly begin to die, and just where does that leave the AppleTV to people like me who want everything to be in pristine HD? Thanks
