Just today ATV would not show anything on my TV. I rebooted ATV by unplugging and re-plugging but that was not the problem so I took the HDMI cable out and plugged it back in which resolved the issue. I really do not feel like buying the new model especially since my model works just fine. Does your ATV HD do this sometimes as well? Require you to either reboot the unit, or unplug the HDMI cable? Thanks..

Occasionally, my Apple TV will seem to get stuck in a screen or app and I have to unplug / plug back in.

It doesn't sound like you need to buy a new device. Your HDMI cable may need replacing.

How do I know for sure? It does this once in a blue moon. Perhaps I can switch cables.

Thank you
When I get these issues , usually with YouTube, I just 'swipe up' to discard the screen and start over. Usually seems to work. I've noticed similar problems with HBOMax since installing my ATV 4K the other day.

Not me. When I get these issues the ATV is on but the screen is blank. I then have to unplug and replug HDMI cable.

I don't recall ever getting a black screen like that on my AppleTV HD. It is connected through hard-wired ethernet however, so maybe that's related? I do have problems with the Sling app not working properly sometimes, but assume that's an issue with the app. Also, I have my ATV set to never sleep.
