AppleTV Newbie Question

I just set up my ATV and did my first sync. 6/7 movies, some tv shows and about 1000 songs and 2000 pictures.

It took alllllllllll day to sync.

Should I not be syncing wirelessly when I have so much content? CAN I connect to ATV and sync like my iPhone/iPod with a cable?

For the first synch, a lot of people hook the Apple TV directly to their router or mac and perform the synch that way, then disconnect and go wireless. If you're running an N network, I would just stream your content and disregard the synch entirely. Personal preference, I guess.
