AppleTV Sound Issues

Whether I am streaming movies or playing music, anytime the music gets loud or if there is an explosion or something in a movie, my audio cuts in and out rapidly. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?
I am using a wired ethernet connection through an Airport Extreme and a HDMI cable to my TV.
