Hi guys!

I have a pretty unique setup at home (I think? :D).
I got a Xbox One and a Apple TV connected to the TV-IN port.
That works perfectly, and i run XBMC on the ATV via Xbox interface. Witch by the way is awesome! So far so good.

But the problems begins when i connect a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 between the Xbox One and the TV. I get nothing but a blackscreen when a start the xbox-watch-tv-application to start using my ATV.

So basically, can you get a AppleTV to play with a PVR? Or is the signal decrypted in some way so you can't connect it via a PVR.

Many thanks in advance!

General theory, have not tested it with the Apple TV:

The video out from the Apple TV has hdcp protection, which prevents the hdpvr2 hdmi input from working.

You may need to find a hdcp stripper to make your setup work.

Again, this is a general theory, so I could be wrong.

I don't think I can post a direct link to discussions about hdmi strippers, but there are discussions over at the videohelp.com forums.

I too, am looking to record Apple TV stuff to a HD PVR.

From what I am told, if you take the output from a receiver (assuming that your Apple TV is passing through a receiver), I THINK that removes the HDCP.

Record formats by Hauppauge PVR
There are three H.264 formats you can choose when recording a video with this gadget.
.TS, which is a generic “transport stream” compatible with many digital media players
.M2TS, which is compatible with the Sony Playstation3
.MP4, which is compatible with the XBox360
Perhaps your Hauppauge PVR videos are not recognized by your ATV.
