I plan to do a clean install for SL, and was wondering if I could simply drag my applications onto a flash drive or DVD and then retrieve them once in SL. For example could I just drag the iWork and MS Office 2008 folders onto a flash drive or DVD, do the clean install, then drag them back into my Application folder? thanks alot!!;)

Application and Clean SL Install

I upgraded to SL doing a clean install. My apps list is relatively modest. I found that I could drag my applications, including MS Office, from my old Leopard applications folder into the SL Applications folders with no problems. The only issue I had was with my Intego firewall and virus protection. I had to re-enter my product serial number, otherwise the system thought these were eval copies. Some of the apps also needed Rosetta to run. SL recognized this and loaded Rosetta the first time I called up an app that required it. Everything seems to be working fine. As I said, my application suite is very limited.

Hope this helps,
