Hello everyone. I've searched the internet far and wide for a solution to this problem and haven't found one, so I'm turning to you folks for advice. If this has come up somewhere that I haven't found, let me know.
When I try to install some applications that use the mac os installer script, instead of running the installer it instead opens a full-screen white window, makes the system hang, and makes the menubar and dock begin to glitch. Eventually, given enough patience, my alt-tabs/expose requests go through and I can bring Finder back on top. If I click on the installer in the dock, though, it goes back to the white window. Eventually the installer just quits on its own. Attached are some screenshots.
Typically the programs that cause this are *older* in the sense that they aren't universal binaries. For example, FontLab Studio 5 (pictured) or Quicken for Mac.
Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance.
