The iPhone App Store is a great way for iPhone developers to promote iPhone apps, mostly because it's pretty much the only way, streamlined, integrated... and i'm assuming for most the $100/year that Apple charges iPhone developers for App Store inclusion is worth the investment (or at least it should be, otherwise it's not very smart business)...

so what about the rest of us non iPhone app developers? what is the best way to promote your app?

1. Apple's Mac OS X Submissions
2. MacUpdate Developer Submissions
3. VersionTracker Upload Center

i'm sure there are other upload sites for developers, or interesting ideas for application promotion.

thoughts or suggestions?

if you're doing mac games, macgamefiles.com and their partner sites (links are on top of the page) is a good place.
