Application Switcher Problem

So I set the scroller ball "button" on the mighty mouse to function as application switcher on my uni 17" mac pro. When I click the ball, the pop-up screen comes up with the open applications, but clicking on any of them does not actually works, meaning that the selected program does not come on screen. Anyone ever had this problem?
