I was wondering if there is an application that manages the default software for each file type.

I know there is a built in way to set the default app to open a file type, but this method is very tedious.

If there is no software for this I'll also take an alternative method or even an AppleScript.

1. Select a file that you want to use.
2. Get Info for that file.
3. Click the Open With drop down, and choose the application that you want to launch that file.
4. Click the Change All… button. (which changes all same type files to open with that application.)

How is that tedious?
