Not sure if this is the appropriate forum. Hopefully I can get some help here though.

I have some college files that were created in Word back in the late '80s. They won't open with current versions of Word.

Anyone know of any programs/utilities out there that will let me open them and then save them to a more current format?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated :)

I have some Word files back to 1990. I have been able to open them using NeoOffice (or LibreOffice or IBM Symphony). Again fidelity is not exact, but it should work. I just tried with a document from 1992 (Word 5.1 format).
