application to search in scanned text documents

I have a lot of scanned documents in pdf and jpg formant. Is there any application that can search for me in them? Evernote does search but you need to upload it to the internet.

Free or Paid?

Evernote is the only free app that I know of and it works wonderfully - for JPEGS tho and not PDFs.

Devonthink Pro Office is great for $150. If you only have one batch of files to OCR then you can use the trial.
