I downloaded the free trial of a program called "Snaps Pro X" for taking screen captures. To make a long story short, it won't move to the trash can. It says the application is open, but I can't quit it. Unlike most programs, the menu bar doesn't change when I am using it, and there is no quit button in the app. Suggestions?

Make sure it's not in your user's Login Items/Startup items in the System Preferences, log out and log back in.

Command-Click on the icon in your menu bar, and drag it to hell.

Then restart your computer and try again.

Where is that in the system preferences??? I don't see it.

If you have Panther, it's in the Accounts PrefPane.

If you have Jaguar, it's the Login Items prefpane.

Okay. I found where my startup items were listed, and it was there, so I removed it from the list. I logged out, and in, then I was able to drag it to the trash. That was a mean app.

BTW, yellow, you answered my question in less than a minute! That's gotta be some kind of a record.
