Applications closing all the time

For the last several days, whenever I logon to my iMac, all the applications that were open and running are now closed, and I have to reopen. Things that run at startup/boot, seem to be running when I logon, almost like I rebooted the computer.

Not sure anything changed, but, is there some setting that would make this behavior happen?
