Somebody here should know something about it.

There are some applications on osx that crash when I try to run them.
I download trial versions from several companies. Some of them are well-known, like zend studio, or sorenson squeeze etc.

I download. I open dmg. I double click the .app. Osx tells me that the application crash.

I don't know why. New versions of applications, what cause the crash?

I have one suspicion about the way I upgraded from tiger to leopard.
I think I used 'archive-install' option. But it should be ok I think. We dont talk about rubbish microsoft windows here! After all 'archive-install' is a normal option on leopard installation disk.

Most of my applications run smooth. Photoshop, ms word, many others. No problem at all.

It seems that something strange happens to my system.
I don't know why new programs crash on my osx.

Can you please help me.

1) You should copy the application out of the .dmg file and put it in your Applications folder

2) If the problems persist, contact the developer of the application in question.

Here is some lines from crash report on one application ( i put it on applications folder):

Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSImageCacheException', reason: 'Can't cache image'

...

Does this means something for you?

What would cause application crashing?
There are a few applications, so maybe there is something wrong on my system?

I talk about new versions of programs, so it is not a matter of roseta or leopard compatibility etc

Elsewhere on the web, the following suggestions about cause/cure:

Repair permissions
Run Apple hardware test from your original DVDs (video card failure?)
And of course, try a re-install.

I once had numerous crashes in many apps, and it turned out to be a glitchy firewire connection (I was running off external drive.)

Yes, actually. Could you post the rest of the log?
