Hi guys.

I am having a little bit of a problem with my mac.

in my home folder. there is an empty Applications folder. I don't know why it is there.

Does/has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do I fix it?

Many thanks

:)

That's ok, you can have an applications folder in your home folder. Any apps installed there will only be accessible by you.

If you don't like the folder, just delete it. I never put apps in ~/Applications but rather /Applications

I hadn't noticed having that folder before either, but I do have one....the only things in it are my Parallels virtual machines. That must be where Parallels puts them by default because I don't ever remember choosing that location.

I do have parallels on my mac mini which I use for work.

Could that be migrating via my iCloud to my macbook air?

I am on Mavericks 10.9.3 and a user ~/Applications folder magically appeared on my system recently also. I don't use Parallels.

I realize the folder's purpose and that it is not harmful, but it is not there on a default install and it is curious it somehow appeared recently. Can't think of any app I installed or anything that would have created it.
