For the third time today the little blue icon with the "A" on it that opens the Applications menu has randomly bounced on the Dock. Does anyone know why? In all my years using Mac OS and the 5 years using this MacBook Air, I have never seen that happen before.

Sure it isn't the App Store icon and maybe installing some automatic updates?
Good idea, but that's definitely not it. I don't keep the App Store icon on the Dock. And the second time that it happened I was looking at the Applications icon and saw it clear as day.

The App Store is, of course, inside of the Applications menu. I see that there have been 4 updates in the App Store today, could that cause the Applications menu to bounce?

I think that is a good possibility and would explain things
