Ever since upgrading to High Sierra, which worked otherwise nicely, some of my applications loose their settings regularly.

For example:
I started the application Movist after the HS upgrade and suddenly my custom settings were lost, like the amount of seconds to jump when skipping. So I re-entered my preferred values and applied them.
But sometimes they get lost again at the next start of the application, sometimes after multiple start-ups later.
Really annoying stuff as it happens with other third party apps as well.

It's as if it does not have access to its preference file.

In the past I would have tried to fix the permissions but that's no longer an option.

Is someone else effected by this?
Any suggestions how to fix it?
