Applications quitting unexpectly

Hi there. I need help with my system. I purchased the new 21.5 iMac couple months ago. I really like it but there is this thing that is bothering me a lot. Any application that I open quits unexpectly. Mac apps (iLife apps, Final cut studio etc) Adobe apps, any app. I have to re-open them so I can use it. I'm wondering if this isn't a Snow Leopard problem. I had. MacBook before and it never happened before

Sounds more like a RAM problem ... insert Install Disc 2 that came with it and boot the iMac while holding D to run hardware test.
